Mercury-free blood pressure measuring devices have been used by most major medical facilities and accepted by medical personnel for many years for taking blood pressure.
- To measure blood pressure, a sphygmomanometer is used, which is more often referred to as a blood pressure cuff. The cuff is wrapped around your upper arm and inflated to stop the flow of blood in your artery.
