FAQ
The reasons for inaccurate pulse oximeter readings include poor perfusion, an irregular heart rate, or poor probe placement. It can be influenced by many variables, such as skin pigment, body temperature, nail polish, movement, and perfusion.
- Place the sensor on a thin part of the finger, away from nails and cuticles.
- Warm up cold hands before taking a reading, as low temperature can affect accuracy.
- Remove nail polish or use a sensor that can penetrate through polish.
