FAQ
You should always follow label use instructions and use the smallest amount necessary to get the desired benefit. Applied once a day as per usage instructions it has been proven to provide all day hold.
When you experience oozing of denture fixative cream from beneath dentures, it’s a sign that you’re using too much. If oozing occurs, reduce the amount of denture fixative that you are applying.
No. Polident denture fixative holds all day so you should not need to apply it more than once a day.
Physical retention of the dentures occurs when the fixative swells in the presence of moisture (saliva) and excludes the air from between the denture and tissue surface. Voids between the denture and gums are reduced, giving the patient greater confidence to bite harder and eat a healthy varied diet.
Dentures need to stay moist to keep their shape. Place the dentures in water or a mild denture-soaking solution overnight.
When cleaning or soaking your dentures, you’ll want to avoid using hot water as it can actually cause your dentures to warp and become misshapen which can change their fit in your mouth. When cleaning and soaking, use cold water to protect your dentures and keep them comfortable.
Use a non-abrasive denture cleaner, not toothpaste. Be careful not to scrub too hard as this may cause grooves in the surface.
Swallowing small amounts of this product, when used as directed, may occur and is not known to be harmful. Denture adhesive is generally well tolerated and has a long established safety profile.
