Povidone iodine, also known as iodopovidone, is a chemical complex of povidone (a water-soluble polymer) and iodine (a chemical element). It is a dark brownish-red solution with antiseptic properties.
Povidone iodine is extraordinarily well for wound healing, including its broad antimicrobial spectrum, lack of resistance, good tolerability and its effect on excessive inflammation.
Gently clean and dry the affected area. Cover the wound with Drez 10% tulle. Use tape or rolled gauze to hold the dressing in place.
