Directions of Use
For measuring temperature in forehead
- Press the ON / OFF button to turn on the thermometer.
- Make sure that the device is in forehead temperature mode; this is indicated by the head symbol.
- Hold the thermometer 2 to 3 cm from the measuring point (forehead) and press the SCAN button.
- Hold until you hear an acoustic signal which signals that the thermometer has found a new measurement; then release the SCAN button and read the measured value.
- Press the ON / OFF button to switch off the thermometer.
For measuring object temperature
- If you want to measure an object temperature with this thermometer, at first switch to object temperature mode.
- With the thermometer switched on, briefly press the MODE / MEM button; the device switches to the object temperature mode, this is indicated by the object symbol.
- Hold the thermometer 2 to 3 cm from the measuring point (object).
- Briefly press the SCAN button and read the temperature in the display.
Note: Measurements taken in object temperature mode are not stored.
For measuring room temperature
- If you want to measure an object temperature with this thermometer, at first switch to object temperature mode.
- With the thermometer switched on, briefly press the MODE / MEM button; the device switches to the room temperature mode, this is indicated by the home symbol.
- The room temperature is immediately displayed on the display

FAQ
Beurer FT 85 non contact thermometer can store up to 60 readings. All the measurements are stored automatically; when the memory spaces exceed 60, the oldest value is deleted to store the new one.
Beurer FT 90 non contact thermometer has high accuracy when comparing to others; it provides accuracy of forehead temperature as ± 0.2˚C: 34˚C to 42.2˚C (± 0.4F: 93.2F to 108F) and for object temperature ± 0.2˚C: 0˚C to 80˚C (± 0.4F: -32F to 176F).
Replace the batteries as soon as the display indicates low battery. Slide open the battery compartment and remove the used / old batteries from the battery compartment, insert two new 1.5 V AAA batteries and make sure that the batteries are inserted the right way round, close the battery compartment.
If you want to measure an object temperature with this thermometer, at first switch to object temperature mode, with the thermometer switched on, briefly press the MODE / MEM button; the device switches to the room temperature mode, this is indicated by the home symbol. The room temperature is immediately displayed on the display.
Clean the measuring sensor of the thermometer after each use; clean with a soft cloth or cotton bud that can be moistened with disinfectant or 70% alcohol. To clean the entire device, please use a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild soapy solution. Don’t use the device again until it is completely dry.
Normal forehead temperature can range between 95F and 99F (35.4˚C and 37.4˚C) approximately.
