FAQ
Lancets are small, pointed tools used to pierce the skin in order to extract a small drop of blood to the surface for testing blood glucose levels with a blood glucose monitor and blood glucose test strips.
Yes, using an expired lancet may create an infection at the puncture site because the lancet has lost its sterility, therefore consult your doctor before using a lancet device.
If you can use different colored lancets, you will be able to keep track of your blood sugar testing since you will be able to color code your lancets according to the time or day you wish to use them.
The number at the tip of the lancing device is a depth gauge; the numbers 1-5 show the depth of the needle into the skin, with 1 being the shallowest and 5 being the deepest.
You cannot use these blood lancets more than once with the same lancet because this can lead to bacterial contamination and infections.
