FAQ
Depending on the age, bottles should be handy, not too heavy and preferably have a wide mouth, making it easier to sip water and clean the bottles. Avoid over-sized bottles for your baby and pick a bottle that is also easy to open. Bottles should also have a leak-proof lid or tight seal to avoid spilling
Start with 1-2ml bottles. They are perfect for the small amounts of breast milk or formula newborns eat in one sitting. Shift to 4-5ml bottles at about 4 months, or whenever your baby’s growing appetite makes bigger bottles more practical.
It’s important to sterilise all your baby’s feeding equipment, including bottles and teats, until they are at least 12 months old. This will protect your baby against infections, in particular diarrhoea and vomiting.
The general rule for the number of baby bottles you will need ranges from 4 to 12, depending on whether you will use formula, or you will breast feed. It will be best to have at least 8-10 bottles on hand before your baby is born.
Once your baby’s bottles and feeding things are sterilised you can store them inside, so they remain sterile for up to 24 hours. Some will even sterilize and dry baby’s bottles in one go
